CM Punk Gives AJ Styles His Flowers After First Meeting In 20 Years

WWE stars CM Punk, AJ Styles, and Chad Gable

CM Punk delivered a message to AJ Styles after they wrestled for the first time in 20 years.

CM Punk and AJ Styles met in the ring again on the recent WWE RAW episode. Both stars clashed at the main event for the Men’s Money in the Bank Qualifying match, with El Grande Americano also present. In a massive upset, the former world champions lost the triple-threat match against the alleged Chad Gable. Still, The Best in the World looked back at the bout fondly due to The Phenomenal One.

Following the show, CM Punk posted on his Instagram story that he would always make time for AJ Styles and jokingly thanked him for leaving a boot print on his face. The former also said they shouldn’t wait another two decades to wrestle again, ending his message by calling Styles a legend.

“I’ve got a lot on my plate right now but I’ll always make room for you. Thank you for the boot print on my nose. Let’s not wait 21 years for the next time. You’re a legend.”

Punk and Styles’ latest match against each other was on December 11, 2004, during IWC’s A Call to Arms 2 event. Their recent RAW match marked the first time they faced off in the Stamford-based promotion.

AJ Styles Admits He Thought CM Punk Will Be A Problem Following His WWE Return

It’s no secret that Punk has become a notorious wrestling name due to his outspoken personality. His departure from AEW before returning to WWE was wrapped in controversy. Due to all this, Styles thought Punk would cause problems in the Triple H-led company, but he was proven wrong.

In an appearance on The Ringer Wrestling Show in April last year, Styles shared that he and Punk don’t really care for each other that much. However, AJ has friends in AEW who told him about Punk’s behavior. He expected Punk to cause problems in WWE again, but was proven wrong.
