CM Punk Addresses Seth Rollins Anger Following WWE Return: “He’s Always Felt Like He Was The Little Brother”

CM Punk Addresses Seth Rollins Anger Following WWE Return:

CM Punk has given an insight into the unique relationship between himself and Seth Rollins.

As was seen in fan footage captured at Survivor Series, Rollins was irate when Punk made his return to WWE after nearly a decade away. While The Visionary’s reaction has been exaggerated, Rollins has made it clear in multiple interviews that he is not a fan of The Second City Saint.

In a previous interview, Seth Rollins detailed his issues with CM Punk, calling Punk “selfish” and adding that there was a lot of personal stuff he didn’t want to get into.

Punk responded to the Rollins hatred while appearing on The Jackie Redmond Show. Punk stated that Rollins has a sibling rivalry mentality and is jealous that Punk has accomplished more in his career:

“Hmmm. Uhh, because I have been everywhere he has been and he hasn’t been everywhere I’ve been. We’re probably too similar, that’s honestly the biggest thing I can think of. We’re very similar. The difference is, I can talk about my career, and not have to mention him. He cannot talk about his career without mentioning me. I understand where he’s coming from, I understand. I think he’s always felt like he was the little brother. I’ve never tried to treat him that way, I’ve always tried to treat him like a peer, but some people you just can’t reach. He hates me. He hates me. Like Colorado Avalanche and Red Wings,”

In a previous interview, Punk stated that Seth Rollins would never have gotten the opportunities in WWE if it were not for the work he had done previously.

CM Punk Aims High Following Return To Action

December 26th 2023 saw Punk compete in his first match since 2014, defeating Dominik Mysterio at a non-televised event inside Madison Square Garden. After the match, CM Punk told the crowd that this was only the beginning and that he would win the Royal Rumble match and go on to WrestleMania.

I came back here to finish what I started. It starts tonight in the World’s Most Famous Arena in front of you, the greatest fans on earth. I know I have stiff competition, but I’m here to finish what I started. When I win the Royal Rumble and go on to main event WrestleMania, ladies and gentlemen, I’m here to let you know that isn’t me finishing my story. That’s just me getting started,”

Punk has also made it clear that should he win the Rumble his champion of choice will be Seth Rollins.

With CM Punk continuing to be divisive, a former WWE Champion has stated that Seth Rollins has a point.

H/t to Fightful.
