More Details On CM Punk & Ace Steel Altercation With Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks

CM Punk held back by security Ace Steel

A new report provides further details on the altercation between CM Punk & the Elite, with claims of a chair being thrown and Kenny Omega being bitten!

At AEW All Out, CM Punk defeated Jon Moxley in the main event to become a two-time AEW World Champion. However, the bloody battle between the two was only the precursor to the drama that would follow the show.

At the post-show media scrum, Punk sat with AEW President Tony Khan and issued verbal assaults against Hangman Adam Page as well as company EVPs The Elite for what Punk believes to be their part in spreading stories about Punk’s involvement with Colt Cabana’s diminished role in the company.

Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks reportedly threatened to walk out of the company following Punk’s comments, and after he left the press conference, “an altercation” was said to have taken place backstage with a security guard seen to be running from the scrum room shortly after Punk’s departure. After Bryan Alvarez described the situation on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer followed up by calling the events a “melee.”

Steven Muehlhausen of DAZN reported that CM Punk threw punches during the altercation, and now an update from F4WOnline provides more information about the physicality that took place. According to that report, Punk allegedly started the violence first by throwing punches at Matt Jackson. Ace Steel was also said to be involved, throwing a chair that hit Nick Jackson in the eye. Steel was also said to have grabbed Kenny Omega by the hair and bitten him.

Fightful Select confirmed this report and provided further details, saying that Nick Jackson was reportedly “rocked” or knocked out. Sources Fightful spoke with said that Ace Steel was the most involved, and one person close to the situation was quoted as saying there was “A lot of cursing, a lot of mayhem, and a lot of people not being willing to hash it out.”

The Fighful Select report continued, noting that at least one coach was “very torn up” about the situation. Some said that Christopher Daniels and Pat Buck were involved, though that seemed to depend on who they spoke to, and Fightful was not able to confirm the information. Several people were said to have gotten involved to de-escalate the situation.

Many who spoke with Fightful believe there could be legal consequences as a result of the altercation. It remains to be seen what the aftermath of the brawl will be, but it’s notable that Eddie Kingston was recently suspended for an altercation with Sammy Guevara. The two have since settled their issues.
