Claudio Castagnoli has one of the fans’ favorite moves in all of professional wrestling.
Ring Of Honor World Champion, Claudio Castagnoli is known for many, many things. One of the Swiss Superman’s many talents is his famous swing maneuver, something Castagnoli claims he thought of in an unconventional way.
Castagnoli appeared a recent episode of ‘Insight with Chris Van Vliet‘ and explained how a popular reality show inspired ‘The Big Swing’:
“When you don’t have the option of Netflix or anything, and you just have cable, I don’t know why but “Dancing With The Stars” was on, and they always have the cool lifts, right? Where they flow people around and everything. One of my Mexican teachers, Skayde, he watched like gymnastics or whatever and just figure out new moves watching anything.
So, I watched that because they always had really cool lifts the way they picked people up … and they did a variation of that, and I was like, ‘Oh, that’s cool,’ so I went and tried it out and came up with the move pretty much.”
Claudio Castagnoli most recently successfully defended his ROH World Title against FTR’s, Dax Harwood during the 9/7 episode of AEW Rampage. While on the subject of reveals, Castagnoli revealed which member of Blackpool Combat Club has made quite the impression when driving for Uber.
