Claudio Castagnoli Breaks Silence After AEW Debut

Newest AEW star Claudio Castagnoli has broken his silence on becoming All Elite after his stunning debut at Forbidden Door.

The wrestling world was swirling with rumours and innuendo ahead of AEW and NJPW’s supershow Forbidden Door on the 26th of June. Bryan Danielson had confirmed on Dynamite that he was set to miss the show and a date with Zack Sabre Jr but promised he had a replacement that would leave fans “astounded.”

The American Dragon was not made to be a liar as the man formerly known as Ceasro in WWE made his shocking entrance to take on the English star. In a hard-hitting match full of typical technical wizardry, it was Claudio Castagnoli that picked up the win to go 1-0 in his new home.

The Swiss star wasn’t done for the night however as he interjected in a huge show-ending brawl between his Blackpool Combat Club, Santana, Ortiz, and Eddie Kingston and The Jericho Appreciation Society ahead of the Blood & Guts match on Dynamite.

Speaking at the post-show media scrum, Claudio Castagnoli gave his thoughts on joining AEW and says he’s like a kid in a candy store:

“Sometimes the stars align for a perfect moment. It’s what happened tonight. I hope [Bryan Danielson’s] alright, I know Bryan will be back. It’s just a perfect fit, I just talked to [Jon Moxley] and we’ve been going back 10-12 years, a long time. We used to ride together, work out together and we still do and we talk. It just fits y’know and at the end of the day, I’m always looking for new challenges, and here in AEW, it’s like I’m a kid in a candy store.”
