AEW star CIMA has revealed on social media that he was recently involved in a road traffic accident whilst riding his bike and has suffered multiple injuries.
Translated from a tweet posted to his account earlier today, the OWE owner detailed his diagnosis from the incident including a head injury; nasal fracture; and contusions to his face, left wrist, right hand, neck and lumbar areas. Thankfully, according to Proresu-Today, he seems to have suffered no injuries to the brain judging by a CT scan he underwent.
Proresu-Today also report that the leader of Strong Hearts was planning on competing in a DDT tournament on October 18th. However, he now expects to return to the promotion on November 3rd following these injuries.
CIMA has not appeared in AEW since travel restrictions tightened worldwide due to the Coronavirus pandemic, though he has wrestled for OWE throughout Japan in the last few months. It is currently unclear when he, or his Strong Hearts teammates T-Hawk and El Lindaman, will be able to return to the Florida-based promotion.
He last wrestled for AEW on the February 19th episode of Dark, losing a tag match alongside T-Hawk to the Dark Order’s Evil Uno and Stu Grayson.
Everyone here at Inside The Ropes wishes CIMA a speedy recovery.
