WWE star Ciampa weighs in on the possibility of Johnny Gargano coming back to WWE.

Ciampa was called up to the main roster in April of this year, leaving NXT after a nearly 7-year stint where himself and Johnny Gargano were part of a critically acclaimed partnership and rivalry.

Speaking with SEScoops’ Scott Fishman, Ciampa commented on Gargano’s status and the prospect of a comeback following his exit from WWE late last year:

“You are one hundred percent going to see [Johnny Gargano] in a ring again. I don’t know which ring. I would think it’s tough to say. I don’t know if Candice [LeRae] is interested in wrestling again or not.

It’s a lot of decisions to be made with a child at home. He has got to be getting close to wrestling somewhere. The itch has got to be getting there. We’re almost at a year in now since he has been in the ring. I think at some point he’ll make his way back to WWE. I feel like everyone does at some point. Never say never.”

Gargano left WWE in Decemeber of 2021 after choosing not to sign a new deal. Gargano would take a break from in-ring wrestling altogether to focus on the birth of his and Candice LeRae’s first child on February of this year.

Gargano’s final match took place at NXT War Games where himself, Ciampa, Pete Dunne and LA Knight (now known as Butch and Max Dupri respectively) would be defeated by Bron Breakker, Carmelo Hayes, Grayson Waller and Tony D’Angelo in a War Games match. Gargano would make one final TV appearance a week later, cutting a farewell promo before being assaulted by Grayson Waller.
