Chris Jericho has shared an update with fans following his recent hospitalisation in the UK.
On December 9th it was reported that Chris Jericho had been checked into hospital by doctors for what was described as a “non COVID related, treatable health issue.” Jericho had been due to play at the Sin City club in Swansea on December 10th with his band Fozzy. The group are currently in the midst of a 12-date UK tour.
The full statement from Sin City noted:
“Chris was checked into Hospital by doctors, with a non Covid related, treatable health issue. Regrettably the show on Friday in Swansea is cancelled and all tickets will be refunded. Will have updates on Saturdays show in Nottingham and Sunday’s show in London as soon as possible”.
In the lead-up to being admitted to hospital Jericho had been pictured out and about with the band. While he continued to post on his own platforms throughout the night while he was in hospital.
The former AEW Champion has now provided an update via the Wrestling Observer. Chris Jericho said that he was feeling good and doctors just wanted to observe him overnight. He again confirmed that the issue was not COVID related.
Fozzy had been due to round out their current tour with shows in Nottingham on December 11th and London the following day. At time of writing is is unclear whether the shows will still take place.
Chris Jericho’s last AEW appearance to date came in a pre-recorded segment on the December 1st edition of Dynamite. While speaking backstage, Jericho was attacked by Daniel Garcia and 2point0. Jericho hasn’t wrestled since leading the Inner Circle to victory over Men of the Year and American Top Team at AEW Full Gear on November 13th.
