Chris Jericho To Star In Wrestling-Themed Action Horror Movie

Chris Jericho will be returning to the big screen once again.

As reported by Variety, the former World Champion will star in the upcoming film Dark Match and will be distributed worldwide by Blue Finch Films, the company that distributed the documentary You Cannot Kill David Arquette to UK audiences.

Dark Match is set in the 1980s and sees a small wrestling company accept a booking in a backwoods town. The promotion later learns that the town is run by a cult leader with devious plans for the match, forcing Miss Behave and her friends to fight for their lives. The film is directed by Lowell Dean and will be released later in the year and is set to premiere imminently at an upcoming film festival. Other names confirmed for the movie include Sara Canning, Michael Eklund and Steven Ogg.

Previous films that Jericho has starred in include multiple appearances in the Terrifier franchise, Sharknado 3 and MacGruber.

Chris Jericho Addresses Recent AEW Victory

At AEW Dynasty, Jericho added to his list of championship reigns as he defeated Hook to become the FTW Champion for the first time in his career. Receiving a hostile reception from the St. Louis crowd, Jericho was faced with chants calling for him to retire throughout the match. Seemingly responding to the negative crowd, Chris Jericho sent a message to all the AEW fans following his championship victory.

On the following episode of Dynamite, Jericho addressed his victory and declared that he was looking for aspiring wrestlers to sit under the learning tree, which was answered by Big Bill. Jericho will defend the FTW Championship against Katsuyori Shibata on the May 1st episode of Dynamite.

In a recent recap of their match, an ex-WWE star admitted that Chris Jericho gave him the most painful moment of his career.
