AEW star Chris Jericho has jokingly teased about a WWE return to settle an old score after a certain festival celebrated its five-year anniversary.
As 2016 turned to 2017, Chris Jericho might have been in the twilight of his WWE career but he was still at the peak of his powers through his on-screen partnership with Kevin Owens and his ubiquitous list.
On February 13th, 2017 however, things changed for Jericho after he introduced the world to his Festival Of Friendship to celebrate his bond with then WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens. However, things took a turn for the worst when Owens presented Chris Jericho with The List Of KO. That list had just one name on it, Jericho’s own, and Owens pounced, attacking his now-former friend.
The moment is one of the most celebrated and fondly remembered in recent WWE history and as it surpassed its five year anniversary, Chris Jericho took to social media to issue a warning to his old pal:
“I haven’t forgotten Owens….you never know when you’ll see me again.”
The feud led to a one-on-one match between the two men at WrestleMania 33. Last year Chris Jericho told talkSPORT that WWE Chairman Vince McMahon had told his opponent that their match was the worst in WrestleMania history:
“He told Kevin it was the ‘worst match in WrestleMania history’ [laughs]. I never heard anything about that. When I came through, Vince went [thumbs up], so I think he was on Kevin’s case at the time.”
It’s unlikely that the two men will see each other in a wrestling ring anytime soon with Jericho still firmly a part of AEW and Kevin Owens recently signing a new multi-year deal to stay put in WWE.
