Chris Jericho has taken to social media to show off his battle scars following a blood-soaked AEW Dynamite main event against Jon Moxley.

After Jon Moxley challenged Chris Jericho to bring out his Lionheart persona at Quake at the Lake, the leader of the Jericho Appreciation Society duly delivered, and then some.

In the main event of the show, Moxley and Jericho went to war. Jericho came out in his old Lionheart gear with his Lionheart entrance, turning his in-ring intensity up to a thousand.

Jericho tore out Moxley’s earring in the early going, leaving the Interim World Champion to bleeding badly. The former Le Champion, rolled back the years, using many of his old moves, and adapting his Walls Of Jericho into the Lion-tamer.

By the end of the match Jericho was also bleeding heavily owing to a shot into the turnbuckle, when he was eventually forced to submit.

In the aftermath of the clash, Jericho took to Instagram to show off his war-wounds, including a nasty cut on his forehead.

“I went to war tonight and I almost won. Kudos to @jonmoxley ….he was the better man, by a hair, tonight. But that match and that loss only stoked the fires of my passions even Hotter! 🔥🔥🔥 I AM A PRO WRESTLER…and A PRETTY FUCKING GREAT ONE. So much more to come…”

After the match, the Jericho Appreciation Society ran to the ring to attack Moxley, but were soon joined by Wheeler Yuta, Claudio Castagnoli, Eddie Kingston and Ortiz. With a brawl in full swing, CM Punk made his shock return to AEW clearing the ring.

This left just Punk and Moxley in the ring, with World Champion and Interim Champion staring each other down. To break the tension Moxley flipped Punk off and left the ring, leaving the returning star to declare that there’s only one World Champion.
