Chris Jericho Shoots Down Potential AEW Dream Match

Chris Jericho makes his entrance at All Out

Chris Jericho has faced off against nearly every major name in the wrestling industry.

The list Jericho’s greatest rivalries is a who’s who of current and future Hall of Famers across multiple promotions, such as Dean Malenko in WCW, Shawn Michaels in WWE and Kenny Omega in NJPW.

Chris Jericho Does Not Want To Face Sting In AEW

Now a part of All Elite Wrestling, the leader of The Jericho Appreciation Society has been a part of a series of first time ever matches, including current AEW World Champion MJF and Eddie Kingston.

Despite wrestling for over 30 years, some opponents never had the opportunity to go one-on-one with Le Champion. This was pointed out on social media by a fan who tweeted Jericho, stating that WCW should have booked Jericho against Nitro’s biggest stars including Goldberg, Bret Hart and Sting.

The fan ended the tweet optimistically, wishing that a Jericho vs. Sting match could take place in AEW, now that both wrestlers are signed with the promotion.

Jericho would shoot down this idea, quoting the tweet by saying “It’ll never happen. Not interested.”

Most recently on AEW Television, Jericho was seen in an rivalry with Adam Cole, where both men faced off in an Unsanctioned match at the Double Or Nothing pay-per-view. Following a victory by Cole in the match and a further victory in a mixed tag team match between Cole and Britt Baker and Jericho and Saraya, the feud appears to have concluded, as Cole has moved on to face MJF.

Having previously appeared in WCW, IMPACT Wrestling and WWE, Sting has been a part of AEW since 2020, debuting at the Winter Is Coming special edition episode of Dynamite.

Following the shock debut, The Icon has allied himself with Darby Allin, providing assistance to the former TNT Champion when the numbers game has proven too much. Looking to retire from in-ring competition in AEW, one fellow Hall of Famer believes that Sting did not trust WWE during his short stint with the company.
