Chris Jericho has a new contender for the ROH World Championship as of the latest AEW Rampage taping!
Jericho Appreciation Society leader Chris Jericho became an eight-time World Champion when he defeated Claudio Castagnoli to win the ROH World Championship at AEW Dynamite Grand Slam. After successfully defending the title against Bandido on September 26th, he made it clear that he intended to dismantle Ring of Honor’s legacy by going after every former champion, announcer, and referee.
On the most recent episode of AEW Dynamite, Jericho took on former ROH World Champion Bryan Danielson in the pair’s third outing in the company. Daniel Garcia, who’s appeared torn between the Blackpool Combat Club and the Jericho Appreciation Society for weeks, solidified his JAS alliance when he hit Danielson over the head with the title belt, helping Jericho to retain his title.
Now, on the October 14th episode of AEW Rampage taped in Toronto, ON, Canada on the 13th, Jericho and Garcia addressed the situation according to a report from PWInsider. Daniel Garcia explained that when Jericho recently attacked him with the ROH Championship, it taught him that sports entertainment will beat professional wrestling every time.
This brought on a surprise appearance from former ROH World Champion Dalton Castle, who had The Boys in tow. Castle challenged Jericho, and the two are set to face off for the championship on next week’s Tuesday edition of AEW Dynamite.
