Former AEW World Champion Chris Jericho opened up about his match with Will Ospreay at AEW All In.
Despite coming up short in the battle, in a recent episode of Talk is Jericho, Jericho expressed his satisfaction with how the match unfolded. The highly anticipated showdown between the two talented wrestlers had elements of realism, with Jericho revealing that he had advised Ospreay to tone down his style for the sake of longevity.
That story I told about cold calling Will to tell him to tone things down so he would have some longevity, like me, that was real.
This advice stemmed from their close relationship, as Ospreay often sought Chris Jericho’s guidance on various aspects of his career, including how to portray a heel.
Will and I have always had a great relationship. He actually called me a few times to get advice on how to be a heel.
Despite the outcome, Jericho considers the match against Ospreay as one of his favourites in his illustrious career and Jericho stated that the match was a testament to his detractors on social media.
It’s just one of those moments. Will and I shared something that can never be duplicated and it’s something that no one will ever know what it was like to be in the ring for Jericho and Ospreay, for our first-ever confrontation and have such a great match and a match that was so critically acclaimed. And once again, me just shoving it at the social media haters’ asses.
Did Chris Jericho Wrestle At AEW All Out?
Chris Jericho did not wrestle at AEW All Out and he wasn’t featured in any of the matches or promo segments. However, Jericho did feature on the September 6th episode of Dynamite, teaming with Sammy Guevara in a tag-match against Aussie Open, which Jericho and Guevara won.
