Chris Jericho and WWE star MVP recently got into a heated confrontation in a hotel lobby after a recent episode of Dynamite.
Following the May 18th edition of AEW Dynamite in Houston, Texas, a tense confrontation ensued between MVP and Chris Jericho.
Despite the clear tension in the air, in the end “nothing bad happened.” It is currently unknown what caused the issues on this particular occasion, although the pair have previously clashed on social media.
Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that Jericho was talking to Matt Hardy when MVP showed up. Witnesses initially though the pair were joking around, but it quickly became apparent that they weren’t. The report states that Jericho told MVP that he “doesn’t fight jobbers.”
“After the 5/18 show in Houston, there was a confrontation in the hotel the wrestlers were staying at between Chris Jericho and MVP at about 1 a.m. after the Dynamite tapings. Something that I’m not clear of happened 18 months ago where they had a falling out. Jericho was talking to Matt Hardy and MVP showed up. Most people didn’t know what was up and thought he was kidding around until it became clear he wasn’t kidding. Nothing bad happened even though it was a tense situation. Jericho did tell him that he doesn’t fight jobbers when he got in the elevator and MVP was screaming about it in the lobby.”
Back in April 2021, MVP pointed out that he had been blocked by Jericho on Twitter after a response he had sent to the star regarding a tweet about the Presidential election in November 2020.
