Chris Jericho Hits Back At WrestleMania Backlash Zombie Invasion

Chris Jericho has taken to social media to respond to WWE’s use of zombies at the WrestleMania Backlash pay-per-view.

Recently, PWInsider.com reported that people within WWE thought AEW’s Blood & Guts match “set the business back 30 years” and that management hated the WarGames-esque encounter.

“I have heard from people in management and they hated it. One person told me, and I quote, ‘That just set the business back 30 years’. “

Well, after the WrestleMania Backlash match between Damian Priest and The Miz became a zombie lumberjack match, All Elite Wrestling’s self-proclaimed Demo God has hit back with his own remark.

“Zombies…ZOMBIES? Wow that just set wrestling back 30 years.”

For those who missed WrestleMania Backlash, undoubtedly the most bizarre match of the pay-per-view, arguably of the year, saw Damian Priest and The Miz’s Lumberjack Match see the ring flanked by the undead, with the commentary team forced to flee to higher ground. John Morrison tried to fight off the zombies outside the ring before being dragged off behind the barricade.

Inside the ring, Priest nailed Miz with Hit The Lights to pick up the win, with the Archer of Infamy making an “Army of The Dead” logo appear on the screen, promoting the new film of Batista – who narrated the pay-per-view’s intro – as zombies stormed the ring and feasted on The A-Lister.
