Former AEW World Champion Chris Jericho has revealed that he will be joining forces with a New Japan legend at upcoming super-show Forbidden Door.
Chris Jericho has been very busy in the build up to AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door on June 26th. The self-proclaimed ‘wizard’ featured heavily on last night’s Dynamite, introducing the AEW Galaxy to some of his new NJPW allies and to reunite with an old one, as well as revealing who he will face at Forbidden Door.
The special Road Rager Dynamite from St Louis began well for Chris Jericho as he overcame Ortiz in a ‘Hair vs. Hair’ match. The leader of the Jericho Appreciation Society was accompanied to the ring by Daniel Garcia, Jake Hager, Matt Menard and Angelo Parker, perhaps relying on numbers to protect his rock star locks. Ortiz was seconded by Eddie Kingston, so fireworks (and maybe even fireballs) were expected.
Predictably, the match erupted into chaos as the Jericho Appreciation Society used their numerical advantage to beat down Kingston before Ortiz’s tag partner Santana and the Blackpool Combat Club’s Wheeler Yuta ran down to even up the numbers.
Chris Jericho had one more ace up his sleeve though, as Fuego Del Sol appeared out of nowhere to take out Ortiz with a baseball bat and give Jericho the win. The twist being that the ‘man in the mask’ was actually none other than Sammy Guevara.
Chris Jericho later appeared during the scheduled showdown between Jon Moxley and Hiroshi Tanahashi, along with Guevara and Tay Conti, whom he introduced as the newest members of the JAS, under the moniker ‘Los Tres Sex Gods’.

The former AEW World and IWGP Intercontinental Champion interrupted the Interim World Title contenders just long enough to distract them from a sneak attack by Suzuki-Gun’s El Desperado and Lance Archer, as the rest of the JAS joined the beat down of Moxley and Tanahashi.
Jericho then announced that he would be teaming with NJPW legend and leader of Suzuki-Gun, Minoru Suzuki along with Sammy Guevara in a trios match against Wheeler Yuta, Shota Umino and Eddie Kingston at Forbidden Door.
Shota ‘Shooter’ Umino, was Moxley’s second for much of the NJPW G1 Climax 29 and with Wheeler Yuta being the young lion of the Blackpool Combat Club, Chris Jericho will be hoping to prove a point to Moxley by beating his allies at Forbidden Door.
Kingston will hope for a better result against Suzuki than their meeting at NJPW Strong Showdown, where he teamed with Moxley in a Philadelphia Street Fight, losing to Suzuki and the G1 bound Lance Archer.
Kingston, Santana and a now bald Ortiz ran in to make the save along with Wheeler Yuta and the JAS were cleared from the ring, ending the impromptu Inner Circle reunion,Tanahashi dispatched El Desperado with a Slingblade to end a segment.
