Damar Hamlin remains in a critical condition after collapsing on the field during Monday Night Football.
The Buffalo Bills star collapsed after colliding with an opponent during the first quarter of the game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Hamlin received treatment on the field for more than 30 minutes before being taken to hospital. After a delay the decision was eventually taken to suspend the game.
In a statement released by the bills after the incident the organisation confirmed that Hamlin had suffered a cardiac arrest.
The incident occurred when Hamlin tackled Bengals receiver Tee Higgins. Higgins’ helmet appeared to hit Hamlin in the chest and after initially getting back to his feet, the star fell to the floor.
Damar Hamlin’s representative Jordan Rooney posted the following update on Twitter.
“Update on Damar: His vitals are back to normal and they have put him to sleep to put a breathing tube down his throat. They are currently running tests. We will provide updates as we have them.”
