Chris Jericho Believes Chyna May Have Sabotaged Iconic Triple H Match

Chyna Chris Jericho

At Fully Loaded 2000, Chris Jericho and Triple H went one on one in a last man standing match. The match saw a variety of weapons used, and Triple H was left bloody when he was hit with a chair shot. In the end, Triple H was victorious after hitting Jericho in the head with a sledgehammer while he had Stephanie McMahon in the Walls of Jericho before suplexing him through the announce table.

Despite the match having plenty of action, one spot didn’t go to plan as the two were supposed to finish the match with a suplex through the Spanish announce table. However, in an earlier match between Eddie Guerrero and Perry Saturn for the WWE European Championship, Chyna hit the table and collapsed it during a brawl on the outside of the ring.

Chris Jericho Questions Whether Chyna Collapse The Spanish Announce Table On Purpose

Speaking on his Talk is Jericho podcast, Chris Jericho revealed why he was upset with Chyna collapsing the announce table as everyone had been told to stay away from it. He also questioned whether she collapsed the table on purpose to get back at Triple H as the two had ended their relationship in real life.

“There was a big sign in Guerilla position that said: Stay away from the Spanish announce table. The producers said it. The agents said it. Everybody said it. There’s a sign in Guerilla, stay away, and the match before us was Chyna versus Perry Saturn, and guess what Chyna did not do? She did not stay away. They hit this table and collapsed it, and something in my head says that maybe she might have done that on purpose because it was her ex-boyfriend that was in the next match. Maybe, I don’t know.”

Improvising a new finish, the two men instead landed on the English-speaking announce table helmed by Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler. Jericho described the finish on his podcast, noting that the crowd was at a fever pitch.

“We finally did the finish. We land on the table, and both guys are out. The crowd is going bananas because they just know that Chris Jericho is going to get up, right one second before Triple H does.”

Jericho has spoken in the past about why he thought the Ninth Wonder of the World was “terrible” to work with.
