Chris Jericho has named his former nemesis and current AEW and IMPACT Wrestling World Champion Kenny Omega as the best in the world at what he does.
Jericho and Omega first shared a ring in Jericho’s first non-WWE wrestling match in over 18 years at WrestleKingdom 12 in January 2018. Omega was successful on that occasion retaining his IWGP US Championship but the two Winnipeg natives were destined to meet in a rematch in the main event of AEW’s first pay-per-view Double Or Nothing in 2019. This time Jericho’s arm was raised in victory before a rampant Jon Moxley made his debut for the company.
Taking to social media the first-ever Undisputed WWF World Champion says there’s no one better in the ring just now than Omega.
The full tweet read:
“In my opinion @KennyOmegamanX is the best wrestler in the world today. Others may feel differently, but I’ve been in the ring w everybody currently working on top & there’s nobody close. Thats why Kenny is @AEW Champ-the most protected title in the biz. It’s Impossible to argue.”
Omega has since responded to the tweet with his acerbic wit:
“Meh. I’d rather believe the bigot cuck, dimwit e-drones, and the guy that thinks I’m the WWE champion.”

The belt collector Kenny Omega has run rampant over both AEW and IMPACT Wrestling ever since wrestling the AEW Championship away from Jon Moxley in December 2019. Since then he has captured the IMPACT World Championship from Rich Swann and still holds the AAA Mega Championship. Omega is set to defend the latter of those titles against former WWE star Andrade at TripleMania XXIX in August.
Chris Jericho also recently discussed the apparent zombie invasion that took place at WWE’s WrestleMania Backlash event.
