Chris Jericho, the legendary star and leader of the Jericho Appreciation Society in AEW, has expressed his admiration for an All Elite name, who has been making waves on AEW television as of late.
Brian Cage has faced top-notch competition in Bryan Danielson and Konosuke Takeshita on AEW Dynamite, impressing Jericho with his growth in the ring.
Jericho spoke to Daily Star’s Matty Paddock and had a lot of praise for the AEW star.
“I think Brian Cage over the last six months is the best Brian Cage has ever been. I think he’s finally starting to understand some of the psychology of wrestling rather than just moves and that sort of thing. He is one of a kind with his size and agility, but now there is more intensity and I think he’s really understanding who he is as a wrestler.”
Chris Jericho Comments On Value Of Brian Cage
The Demo God went on to explain that a few months ago he might not have gone to bat for Cage.
“Six months ago I might have said ‘Well, whatever, if he stays that’s cool’, but now I think he has become a way more valuable part of our roster and I would sign him for sure. Absolutely.”
Cage has had a rocky road in AEW. Upon his arrival in 2020, he quickly established himself as a prominent player, securing Taz’s FTW World Championship and putting up a formidable challenge for Jon Moxley’s AEW World Title at Fight for the Fallen. Despite his regular presence on AEW programming, Cage’s usage decreased in the latter half of 2021, before he disappeared. In recent months, he has re-emerged in AEW and is one-third of the current Six Man Tag Team Champions, teaming up with Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona in Tony Khan’s Ring of Honor.
Fightful has reported that Cage’s contract with AEW is set to expire in the coming weeks, but there has been no official confirmation on whether he has signed a new deal.
