For more than three decades, Chris Jericho has taken on some of the biggest names and most talented stars in the history of professional wrestling.
Jericho has previously engaged in long-term stories with the likes of Shawn Michaels and Kevin Owens. However, the former World Champion says that there is one story which stands above all the others. Not just in terms of his own career, but the industry as a whole.
At AEW All Out Chris Jericho brought the curtain down on his year-long rivalry with MJF. During that time, the pair have fought as part of warring factions, at Blood and Guts, Stadium Stampede, and shed copious amounts of blood to prove they were the better man. But all of that came to an end on September 5th when MJF finally tapped out to the Walls of Jericho to the delight of a packed house in Chicago.
Reflecting on the rivalry on Instagram, Jericho said that it was one of the best long-term feuds from the last 20 years.
Heading into All Out Jericho had to endure the ‘Labours of Jericho’ to even get his deciding match with MJF. Jericho defeated Shawn Spears, Nick Gage, Juventud Guerrera and Wardlow before losing to his long-time rival. However, Jericho wasn’t done and said that he would put his career on the line at All Out for one final showdown.
During the bout it appeared that Jericho may have bitten off more than he could chew as his shoulders were pinned to the mat for a three count, despite having his foot on the rope. After a brief exchange between officials, the match restarted enabling Jericho to pick up the win.
After the bell Jericho celebrated with The Innner Circle safe in the knowledge that his in-ring career was still far from over.
