Chris Jericho Blasts CM Punk’s Lawyer Over NDAs

Chris Jericho

Chris Jericho could find himself in legal trouble after he went after CM Punk’s lawyer.

Jericho posted a heated message on social media to Stephen P. New who is representing Punk in his legal matters following the infamous AEW All Out 2022 backstage brawl.

The backstage brawl now known as “Brawl Out” was a major incident that occurred following the pay-per-view event on September 5, 2022, in Chicago, Illinois. It remains a highly controversial topic within the wrestling world, with many conflicting reports and a lack of complete clarity surrounding the specifics of what happened. This lack of clarity is due to the NDAs signed by all who were a part of the incident.

In the past few weeks, New has publically spoken about the incident and the non disclosure agreements signed by everyone involved in the alleged altercation. However, Jericho responded to a report about New’s statement, revealing that he hasn’t signed an NDA. New replied to the inaugural AEW World Champion, stating:

It’s in your employee handbook unless you have a special one. We can figure it out

What did Chris Jericho say to CM Punk’s lawyer?

Jericho then fired back with an intense message declaring that he doesn’t have an AEW employee handbook nor has he ever signed an NDA before telling him to shut up because he wasn’t there and therefore doesn’t know what actually happened.

Hey @StephenPNew– I don’t adhere to an employee handbook and have NEVER had one in 4 years of working for @aew. Ive also never signed an NDA in my life ….ever. So stop trying to be a bully and making egotistical fantasy brags for your clients, and start doing some research before you make blanket statements about your buddies. Because I saw EVERYTHING that night…including how Lucy (and her husband and best buddy) acted and what really went down…and since I was in the room and watching her and everybody else the whole time..I know exactly what really happened. And considering you weren’t there and I was …maybe you should shut your mark ass up. Because what really went down was disgusting. ….

New, undeterred, seemed to threaten Jericho by noting that his post would be considered “Exhibit A” before wishing him a “Merry Christmas”.

Thank you Chris. We will just attach this Tweet as Exhibit A. Merry Christmas.

Jericho has yet to respond.

Stephen P New also recently discussed whether CM Punk was under a no-compete clause following his AEW firing and given his thoughts on Tony Khan claiming he “feared for his life” during the backstage incident at All In.

Following the social media spat with Stephen P New, serious allegations against Chris Jericho surfaced which Tony Khan has now addressed.
