Chris Jericho has claimed AEW is the best wrestling company world, especially for those plying their craft in the ring amidst a further round of releases made by WWE.
Jericho’s comments came after Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported that a number of NXT Superstars that includes former NXT North American Champion Bronson Reed, Bobby Fish, and Mercedes Martinez have been let go by WWE.
Bronson Reed had become something of a fixture on the black and gold brand, winning the NXT North American Championship from Johnny Gargano back in May. The Aussie had been tipped to debut on the main roster after appearing backstage at numerous RAW and SmackDown tapings. Reed defeated Robert Roode in a dark match at a SmackDown taping in June, while also defeating Drew Gulak on Main Event.
The releases come after it was revealed that former NXT Champion Adam Cole was backstage at SmackDown for a “high-level” meeting with WWE Chairman Vince McMahon, apparently in an effort to resolve his future.
Now AEW’s Demo-God Chris Jericho has commented on social media without referring to the releases directly, Tweeting:
“I think now more than ever it’s obvious, – @AEWis the best pro wrestling company in the world today! Both for fans …and especially for performers. Nothing can stop us now!”
