During the latest episode of Rampage, Chris Jericho hinted at a huge dream match that could now happen.
The main event of the September 9th edition of AEW Rampage saw ROH World Champion Claudio Castagnoli defend his title against FTR’s Dax Harwood.
A hard-fought bout saw Harwood trying everything he could to seize the victory including his own version of the Sharpshooter.
However, he couldn’t overcome Castagnoli, who attacked him with vicious elbows before locking in the Sharpshooter himself to retain the title with a submission win.
Following the match, the two men embraced in a show of respect.
Meanwhile, Chris Jericho dropped an interesting hint on commentary when he mentioned that he has never been Ring of Honor World Champion and that Claudio Castagnoli might well be looking for a new opponent.
“You know what, Jim Ross, I’ve never been a Ring of Honor World Champion before. Just gonna leave that there. Maybe, uh maybe, Claudio needs a new opponent at some point.”
While Chris Jericho and Castagnoli had several bouts in WWE – where Castagnoli was known as Cesaro – this would still be a blockbuster match as The Swiss Superman is in the midst of his first reign as a World Champion while Jericho has never stepped foot in an ROH ring before despite his decades of experience.
