Chris Hemsworth has given an update on the upcoming Hulk Hogan biopic in which he is set to don the yellow and red spandex as the WWE Hall of Famer.
A biopic on the life and career of Hulk Hogan has seemingly been in the works for several years with Hogan’s friend and former boss Eric Bischoff involved in the early stages of putting a production together. Chris Hemsworth is attached to play Hogan with The Hangover and Joker director Todd Phillips set to direct.
There has been little information on when production is due to begin on the movie with several Hollywood blockbusters delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, including Thor: Love And Thunder which was originally meant to be released in November 2021 but will now hit cinemas in July this year.
Speaking to Daily Distraction on Comicbook.com, Hemsworth provided an update on the project, which is unfortunately still “a while away”.
“Oh that film’s a while away. It’s sort of in the development stage, you know? If that comes to fruition, great, Todd Phillips is brilliant. I haven’t ripped any shirts off yet, but you’ll be the first to hear about it when I do.”
Since Hemsworth was cast for the role, Hulk Hogan himself has given him the seal of approval, saying the Australian star looks like he could slam Andre The Giant.
