Chris Bey Reacts To Karrion Kross’ Win At NXT TakeOver: In Your House

By James Holder. Published 14th June 2021.
Karrion Kross

IMPACT Wrestling star Chris Bey has moved to praise NXT Champion Karrion Kross after he emerged victorious at NXT TakeOver: In Your House.

At the latest TakeOver special Karrion Kross defended his NXT Title against Pete Dunne, Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly and Johnny Gargano. After a typically frenetic contest Kross eventually emerged victorious after forcing O’Reilly to pass out in the Kross-Jacket.

After the match, Chris Bey took to Twitter to praise the reigning champion, while also defending Kross against those who doubt him.

Bey called Kross a “star” before describing him as “larger than life.”

At the end of the day, we’re all entitled to our own opinions.

A spade is a spade.

I call it like I see it.

If I had a company, I’d definitely back the most educated speaker and guy with the most presence. The guy who comes off most legit, because he is lol

The current NXT Champion signed with WWE in early 2020 and hasn’t looked back since. Not even a separated shoulder in August could derail the big man’s momentum.

After vacating his newly won NXT Title, Kross immediately set his sights on getting back in the ring. This meant embarking on a “vicious” rehab program which would see him return to action in just three months and eventually reclaim the championship he never lost defeating Finn Balor at NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver.

Speaking in a recent interview, Kross said that it had always been his dream to sign with WWE.

“It was for a variety of reasons. I’ll tell you the most important reason. To me was the fact that WWE was always the place that I wanted to be since I was a kid. I’ll admit it, a lot of us from the independents, we hear stories. Whether they are true or not. At different points in people’s careers, sometimes they become discouraged on pursuing the ultimate goal, the ultimate dream. They convinced themselves to sell for less, and I was like, I’m not going to get caught up with that. I’m going to follow my heart, my soul and my intuition on this. I’m going to continue to stay the course for the WWE. You’re not going to get caught up with that. So it was very important for me and for my soul to fulfil this. It’s the only job I’ve ever wanted since I was a kid. So that was the first reason.”

At the most recent TakeOver special, Kross, Raquel Gonzalez, MSK and Bronson Reed all retained their respective championships. While LA Knight climbed the golden ladder to success to claim the Million Dollar Championship.
