Chelsea Green is not taking her Women’s United States Championship loss well.
On the April 25 edition of Friday Night SmackDown, Chelsea Green’s historic title reign came to an end when she was defeated by Zelina Vega. Ever since becoming the inaugural Women’s US title, Green adopted a “Presidential” persona complete with Statue of Liberty inspired attire and her own security detail of Piper Niven and Alba Fyre called The Secret Hervice. So, now that she is no longer the US champion, it is only fitting she issue an official statement.
Taking to social media, Green shared a picture of the US Capitol building in Washington, DC, with the US flag flying at half-mast symbolising the loss of her title, along with a message stating it was her “farewell address”
“Goodbye for now @WWE
“This is my farewell address.”
Chelsea Green Gives Honest Thoughts On Missing WrestleMania 41
Despite having a successful 2024, which was capped off by her becoming the first ever Women’s United States Champion, Green was notable in her absence at WrestleMania 41. But while many fans were not happy about it, Green herself understood why and spoke about it when asked in an interview with Adrian Hernandez of Unlikely,
“At the end of the day, of course after a crazy year, the pinnacle is WrestleMania. So I felt the want and the need for these titles to be on the show. I wanted them to be on the show. But at the end of the day, we only have so many hours and so many spots on the card.”
