Chelsea Green Opens Up About “Devastating” SmackDown Debut

After suffering a broken wrist during her surprise SmackDown debut, Chelsea Green has opened up with an emotional statement on social media.

Via her Twitter account, Green said she was beyond devastated – but confirmed that her future does indeed lie on SmackDown when she returns.

“Just like the rest of my career, I couldn’t have an easy debut! LOL, that just wouldn’t be fit for my wild journey. I’m headed into surgery now. I am beyond devastated but so excited to be a part of @WWEteam SmackDown, when I get back!”

Green also took to Instagram to confirm the injury, sharing a photo from her hospital bed.

The injury is eerily similar to that suffered by Green on her first televised match in NXT, breaking her wrist in her first televised match and facing three months on the sideline.

SmackDown marked Green’s first appearance in WWE for six months, with the last coming on the May 27th edition of NXT. Green teamed with Charlotte Flair to defeat Rhea Ripley and Io Shirai – firing manager Robert Stone after the match – and hadn’t been seen since.

We wish Chelsea Green a speedy recovery, and hope to see her back on the blue brand soon.
