WWE has announced that Charlotte Flair will defend the RAW Women’s Championship against Alexa Bliss at Extreme Rules later this month.
The match was confirmed via WWE.com after a confrontation between the two on this week’s episode of RAW. On Monday night, Flair successfully defended her RAW Women’s Title against Nia Jax. During her celebrations, Bliss along with Lilly appeared on the big screen and invited Flair to Alexa’s Playground so that Lilly could try on one of Flair’s signature fancy robes.
However, The Queen was in no mood to entertain Bliss and her supernatural doll and refused to play their mind games. Bliss then revealed that if Flair wouldn’t come to her playground then she would have to bring the playground to her. The lights went out and when they came back on, Bliss and Lilly were standing behind the champion.
Once face to face, Flair asked Bliss what she wanted. Bliss simply pointed at the championship to which Flair warned she can try and get it but the ring is her playground.
Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss have fought several times. Most notably they clashed in a Champion vs. Champion match at 2017’s Survivor Series. Flair won that match, but Bliss has gone through quite a transformation in the four years since.
This championship match is one of four confirmed thus far for Extreme Rules. The other title bouts see WWE Champion Bobby Lashley take on Randy Orton, SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch face Bianca Belair and WWE US Champion Damien Preist square off with Sheamus.
WWE Extreme Rules takes place on Sunday, September 26 from the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio.
