Charlotte Flair On Being “Inspired” By Andrade’s Decision To Leave WWE

Speaking ahead of her latest assault on the RAW Women’s Championship, Charlotte Flair has been discussing her fiancé Andrade’s debut on AEW Dynamite.

After a lengthy period away from WWE television, Andrade finally left the company in March 2021. Following his exit, Andrade didn’t reappear again until he challenged Kenny Omega via a video package on Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide’s Rey de Reyes show.

Immediately after the Mexican star became a free-agent, he was linked with AEW. Although there was little word of a deal on either side. That is until June 4th when Andrade El Idolo arrived on AEW Dynamite.

Recalling Andrade’s departure from WWE, Charlotte Flair told Bleacher Report that she was “motivated and inspired” by her fiancé’s decision.

“I’m just so motivated and inspired by his decision,” she said. “It was his dream to be in WWE, but I think he knew and felt he wanted more. He could get more and maybe going and showing his worth and working on things that he needed to like his English, that’s what it was going to take to be where he wants to be. To do that on his own accord and not be scared of the future but to know that he’ll succeed and one day come back… I don’t know if that’s what he’d want to do. But he wants success.”

Flair continued, adding that she believes that bigger and better things are on the way for the former NXT Champion.

“He wants the platform… He wants to get better. He wants to main-event shows. To see him come out the other night when he debuted, full-blown star. You can’t deny him, he is a star. Working on his English, I know things are going to get bigger and better and brighter for him and I support him 100 percent. It’s really inspiring to watch. He just went and did it.”

Elsewhere in the conversation, Flair addressed the news that Mickie James along with the NWA will be running an all-female pay-per-view on August 28th. The 13-time WWE Women’s Champion dismissed the idea that she needs such a show to demonstrate her skills. Flair explained that she wanted to be on the same card as her male counterparts, saying that’s how she’ll prove that she’s the best in the world.
