Charlotte Flair has revealed that she talked her father out of performing a truly terrifying spot in his final match.
On July 31st 2022 Ric Flair will bring down the curtain on a professional wrestling career that began back in December 1972.
During his 50-year run inside the squared circle Flair became one of the most famous wrestlers in the history of this great sport. The Nature Boy stands as a 16-time World Champion, Royal Rumble winner and two-time WWE Hall of Famer.
While he became known as one of the greatest to ever step into a ring, his extra-curricular activities helped garner him mainstream infamy.
However, all of that comes to an end at Starrcast V where he teams with son-in-law Andrade El Idolo to take on Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal. Although many fans have questioned Flair’s desire to get back in the ring aged 73, following a number of serious health issues, the man himself plans to go out with a bang, even pledging to come off the top rope.
The idea of Flair coming off the top rope at all seems just a little insane, but apparently at one stage he had even bigger plans.
In an article looking at the upcoming event, Charlotte Flair told Marc Raimondi of ESPN that she talked her father out of doing a dive to the outside.
“A lot of our men and women in all companies miss those all the time,” said Charlotte. “I was like, ‘No, not needed, not necessary. Wasn’t necessary in your prime, isn’t necessary now. So, no.'”
Flair also recently disclosed that he is dealing with an injury ahead of the bout, but he’ll still be in the ring come the big night.
