Charlotte Flair won’t be involved in an upcoming movie based on a wrestling legend after her deal fell through.
It was reported back in May that both Charlotte Flair and Liv Morgan had been cast in a new movie chronicling the life and career of Mildred Burke. However, it’s now become clear that neither woman will actually be involved.
Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that Flair had agreed to work on the film before WWE got involved. From here the deal fell through. It’s unclear what WWE’s involvement actually was.
The former Women’s Champion had been due to take on the role of June Byers, that spot will now be taken by Kamille Brickhouse. With regard to Liv Morgan, she was reportedly cast as Clara Mortensen. That role will now be taken by Toni Storm.
“Kamille Brickhouse noted that she spent the summer filming the Mildred Burke movie “Queen of the Ring.” She will be playing June Byers, who had a shoot match for the women’s world title in Atlanta with Burke in 1954 and then after winning became the dominant women’s star for the next decade. At one point Charlotte Flair was pegged for that role and had agreed to it but WWE got involved and it fell through.”
Has Charlotte Flair Been In Movies Before?
Although the role in Queen of the Ring would have been a big one for Flair, she has been featured in movies and television shows previously. The star appeared in Pysch: The Movie back in 2017 and later in TV shows such as Punky Brewster.
