Charlotte Flair has stated that fans may have to wait until she makes her decision regarding her champion of choice for WrestleMania.
With Flair being the last woman standing in the 2025 Women’s Royal Rumble, the former Women’s Champion is now the only 2-time winner of the match and is once again faced with a choice of who to face. Back in 2020, Flair chose then NXT Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley as her opponent and defeated Ripley at WrestleMania 36. 5 years later, Flair has once again hinted that she might be going for gold in NXT once more.
Appearing live on the February 4th edition of NXT, Flair first declared to the fans that “Your Queen has arrived” before turning her attention to NXT Women’s Champion Giulia, Roxanne Perez and Bayley, who were all in the ring to promote their upcoming triple threat match at Vengeance Day.
Flair stated that while Perez was the Iron Woman she was the runner-up and the same result would occur at WrestleMania and also declared that she was better than Giulia. However, much like on Raw, Flair did not announce who she would be facing at WrestleMania 41. The Queen is also scheduled to appear live on the February 7th SmackDown to meet face-to-face with WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton to complete the trifecta.
Charlotte Flair Not In Any Rush To Make Her Decision
Speaking in a digital exclusive after the show, Flair noted that the match would be made on her terms and added that the decision might not come until the day before the show:
“So I spent a year and a half here training. All my rehab was here, my first time hitting the ropes, getting in the ring, getting familiar with the girls that are on NXT. So to come back where I’m homegrown, where my first match was, where my coaches are, it’s always surreal to come back, to remember your roots. They definitely gave me a warm welcome, so I was very appreciative.
But I also had the opportunity to talk about Roxanne and Giulia in the Women’s Royal Rumble because they did do an incredible job. They’re not me, but they will get there [laughs], no, but they really did impress me. They really knocked it out of the park, and I do truly believe that NXT does have the greatest women’s division in the world. I do think Raw and SmackDown, when they get there, it is a different ballgame.
But here is where you build the foundation, and they’re killing it, so I couldn’t have been more proud. But to give them the opportunity to say, ‘Hey, I might pick you, I might pick you, I might pick you,’ that’s what it’s all about because I have picked an NXT Women’s Champion the last time I won the Women’s Royal Rumble. So who knows who I’m gonna pick? It’s on my terms.
Here’s the thing. WrestleMania’s not until April, so I’ve got all the time in the world. So I’m just gonna take my time while you guys wait it out. It’s on my time. I might not even pick until the night before WrestleMania. Because I have the golden ticket.”
