Charlotte Flair Changed WWE’s Plans For Lana

According to a report by Fightful Select, Charlotte Flair greatly altered WWE’s plans for Lana following Survivor Series.

As per the report, a Charlotte Flair return at WWE Tables, Ladders and Chairs on December 20 was not originally in the works or even considered when the company began to tell the underdog story of ‘The Ravishing Russian’ in November.

‘The Queen’ was in fact meant to return to the company and active duty at some point in the fall but was said not to be an original factor in the storyline which was originally meant to see Lana cap off her uplifting tale by lifting gold at the company’s final event of the year.

According to Fightful, Flair was only considered as an option and player in the tale after Survivor Series in November with plenty of roster members being left in the dark about her return.

On the December 13 Monday Night Raw, Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler brutally ambushed Lana after her victory over the former, injuring her arm and leg. The attack took the star out of her scheduled WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Match at TLC and necessitated Asuka find a new partner.

On the night in question, that mystery person turned out to be Charlotte Flair who had not been seen in the company since NXT TakeOver: In Your House.

It is widely believed that Flair and Asuka will work their way to some type of bout over the WWE Raw Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 37. Though there could be an interesting twist in that tale, should WWE decide to also insert Lana.
