Charlotte Flair Addresses WWE Absence

Charlotte Flair

Charlotte Flair hasn’t appeared on WWE television since being defeated by Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 39.

The match on night one of the spectacular was immediately praised by fans and critics alike and saw Ripley become the SmackDown Women’s Champion for the first time.

In the aftermath of the defeat, it was reported that Flair would be taking a break from WWE. While the reason for her absence is unclear, it is believed that the decision was taken by Flair herself.

Speaking to The Boardroom, Flair has now commented on her absence for the first time. The former Women’s Champion said that he had taken time off as there was something she “needed to take care of.”

“For me, I went from having never any off-days to getting injured last year after WrestleMania and being off for seven months, and then now off again for a couple weeks for something that I needed to take care of, so it’s a blessing and a curse. Like, no one wants to be injured, but having that first time off for that extended amount of time, I think was definitely healthy for my mindset,”

Flair only returned to WWE on December 30th, 2022 having been out of action for seven months. There is no word on when Flair will be back on WWE television.

Charlotte Flair Remains On SmackDown

Although a number of Charlotte Flair’s rivals moved brands as part of the WWE Draft, The Queen will be staying on SmackDown. The star was the second pick for the blue brand on the second night of the draft.

Flair will be joined on SmackDown by Bianca Belair and Asuka as part of the shake-up while Rhea Ripley is staying on Raw, despite being SmackDown Women’s Champion.
