Former WWE Tag Team Champion Charlie Haas looks unrecognisable in a new “mini shoot interview” with The Hannibal TV.
Haas, who is best-known for his part in Team Angle alongside WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle and current WWE Superstar Shelton Benjamin, revealed in the interview that he and Jackie Gayda have gone through a divorce, which he says was “really tough” for him and their children.
“I’ve been out of the business about two years, went through a divorce, which was really tough for me and the kids.”
Haas would reveal how he’s “back on his feet” and divulged that he runs a youth wrestling program right now.
“I’m back on my feet. I run a youth wrestling program out of Allen, Texas. Allen High School. They’re going for their 13th straight State title. They’re a top ten team in the country. I run the youth program that pushes all those kids into that program. I’m in the room everyday, wrestling, conditioning with kids from anywhere from kindergarten all the way up to high school, to college kids and drop-bys. I’m actually wrestling amateur, and wrestling the way I did when I was in college. So, in order for me do that, I had to drop weight, I’m at 215 right now. It’s a different look, but it fits me, so I’m happy where I’m at.”
Haas went to reveal how his kids are wrestling too, saying he has four kids – two girls, two boys. The former Team Angle man says his ten year old is “one of the top kids in the country” and his eight year old has won “almost every tournament he’s been in this year” in the interview – but says he won’t be getting back into the competitive amateur game due to his age.
Charlie Haas also went on to reveal how he’s enjoying working as a heel now, reminiscing about his time with Kurt Angle and Shelton Benjamin.
