There will be more twists and turns to come before Cody Rhodes and Brock Lesnar meet at SummerSlam.
On the July 10th episode of Raw, Cody Rhodes called out his rival yet again, challenging The Beast to a match at SummerSlam. The pair have already met twice at Backlash and Night of Champions, and the pair hold one win over the other.
Since WrestleMania 39, Lesnar has made it his business to beat down Rhodes whenever he gets chance and that contained on July 17th. Rhodes opened the show in front of a packed home crowd, with his mother in the front row, and called out Lesnar, trying to get him to accept his challenge from a week earlier. As the American Nightmare was leaving, Lesnar was seemingly nowhere to be seen, but he quickly attacked, hitting Rhodes with a chair.
He went on to hit an F-5 on Rhodes in front of his mother, before accepting the match at SummerSlam.
However, it seems that the clash in Detroit won’t be just any match. After Raw went off the air, WRKD Wrestling reported that a stipulation will be added to the match before the pair meet in the ring at the summer spectacular.
“While not announced on #WWERaw, a stipulation will be added to Brock Lesnar vs. Cody Rhodes at #SummerSlam.”
In a new report by Fightful Select, it has been confirmed that the SummerSlam match plans will not be changing for Lesnar and Rhodes.
