Former WWE Superstars talk about sharing the ring with Mercedes Moné.
Shotzi and Sasha Banks are former WWE Superstars who wrestled several times on the Stamford-based promotion, even back in NXT in 2020. Although they have mainly been enemies, the former remembers her time with the now Mercedes Moné fondly.
On the Podcast Heat Wrestling, Shotzi was asked if she wanted to lock horns with Mercedes Moné again. She answered yes and stated that she would go as a wrestler anytime they met in the squared circle, noting that the AEW star has surely grown more since becoming All Elite.
“Yeah. How can you not? Honestly, working with her on the main roster and then even the tag match that I had with Tegan (Nox) against her and Bayley, it changed me as a wrestler. Every time I get in the ring with her, I grow, and she’s grown so much since joining AEW. So I wanna see what this new version of Mercedes Moné is. Yeah, I wanna go toe-to-toe with her. This new version.”
Mercedes left WWE in 2022 and began wrestling in AEW in 2024, though also been appearing in NJPW since 2023 and other independent wrestling promotions. For Shotzi, she departed the Stamford-based promotion in May this year and recently wrestled at GCW.
Recently Released WWE Star Shotzi Might Cross Paths With Mercedes Moné In AEW
Like most former WWE Superstars, Shotzi is interested in joining All Elite Wrestling. However, Mercedes Moné isn’t the only reason for wanting to work in the company.
On The Ariel Helwani Show, the former WWE star shared she liked how Tony Khan treats talents and the freedom available to them. She even joked about how “hot girls get to make out with each other.”
“I love their freedom. I have a lot of friends there who are doing really awesome things. I’ve heard many stories of how Tony treats talent. So yeah, I do love that he really cares for his talent. That is super important to me.”
It will be interesting if both women will eventually face each other again soon.
