A current champion was among those to miss AEW Dynamite as Hurricane Ian heavily affected plans for the show.

In a report from Fightful Select it was reported that former World Tag Team Champion Swerve Strickland missed the show as he was unable to travel to the event. This meant that Strickland’s partner, Keith Lee appeared in a backstage segment with new champions The Acclaimed on his own.

Another star who missed the show was ROH World Television Champion Samoa Joe. The episode featured a number of ROH stars but Joe was notable by his absence. The report states that the former WWE Superstar had been scheduled to appear.

On the show, Saraya addressed fans for the first time since she moved from WWE. The star once again entered to a huge ovation and thanked fans for their response, before going on to comment that she is “damaged but not broken,” promising to bring revolution to the women’s division.

During the segment which was interrupted by Britt Baker and her crew, Saraya also took a jab at her former employer commenting that it was nice to have a boss that listens to her.

Elsewhere, Chris Jericho retained his ROH World Championship with victory over Bandido before declaring war on Ring of Honor.
