Even though Brock Lesnar and John Cena are far from being full-time WWE Superstars they’re still in demand.
Due to their status as two of the biggest stars of the last two decades they are dream matches for a number of stars on the current roster. Interestingly, fans might even get to see one of these dream matches at WrestleMania 39. Back in December it was reported that Lesnar could be heading for a showdown with Intercontinental Champion Gunther.

Furthermore, it appears that Gunther also has his eye on a match with The Beast. Speaking to My San Antonio, the Austrian star was asked about who he would like to face in WWE.
“I think there’s a big selection to be honest. Some of the best wrestlers in the worlds are in WWE. I’m really bad at naming dream matches, but I always wanted to wrestle Finn Balor. AJ Styles will be a great match. Obviously, Brock Lesnar will be fantastic. At some point, if John Cena is ever possible, that would be great. Roman, obviously is there. Drew McIntyre is a match that I think could be very exciting for our audience. So, I think we have a lot of really good scenarios and possible matchups, exciting matchups for our fans.”
During the same interview Gunther also admitted that he had reservations over signing with WWE back in 2019. The former NXT United Kingdom Champion revealed that he was worried about his style not fitting with WWE, while he held little interest in moving to the United States.
On the January 13th episode of SmackDown, Gunther made the latest defence of his Intercontinental Title against Braun Strowman. Later on in the show he declared himself for the 2023 Royal Rumble Match.
Brock Lesnar hasn’t appeared for WWE since seeing off Bobby Lashley at Crown Jewel back in November. However, it has been hinted that he could also be in action at the Royal Rumble.
