Chad Gable‘s determination to prove himself in the ring has led him to seek another opportunity to face off against WWE Intercontinental Champion Gunther.
The intense encounter took place on the July 31 episode of Raw when Gunther challenged Gable to last five minutes in the ring with him. Despite enduring a barrage of powerful moves from Gunther, Gable managed to withstand the assault and reach the end of the time limit.
However, Gunther was not satisfied with the outcome and demanded more time to continue the match. Gable, displaying unwavering resilience, not only endured but also launched an impressive suplex on the champion.
Although Gunther ultimately emerged victorious, Gable’s performance pushed the champion to his limits like few others have.
In a post-match interview on Raw Talk, Gable expressed his thoughts on the intense showdown and made it abundantly clear that he is eager for a rematch.
While Gunther is currently focused on defending his Intercontinental Championship against Drew McIntyre at SummerSlam, Gable’s request for a rematch will undoubtedly pique the interest of fans and keep the anticipation for future encounters high.

On the August 14th episode of Raw it was confirmed that Gunther will defend his Intercontinental Championship on the August 21st episode of Raw.
What Is Gunther Doing At WWE SummerSlam?
Gunther is currently scheduled to face Drew McIntyre at SummerSlam for the Intercontinental Championship. Gunther’s reign as champion has lasted currently over 400 days and is fast approaching The Honky Tonk Man’s record 454 title reign.
Only legends such as Pedro Morales, Randy Savage and Don Muraco can claim to have held the title for over a year in a single reign, the fact Gunther is ranked with names of that calibre is a positive sign of what WWE top brass think of the Austrian Superstar.
If Gunther is successful in defending his title against McIntyre then it would mark his 13th successful televised title defence.
