According to a new report Chad Gable is considering leaving WWE.

Chad Gable signed with WWE in 2013 after competing in the Greco-Roman style 84kg event at the 2012 Olympic Games in London.

In Spring 2015, Gable began a storyline with Jason Jordan which would see the pair eventually team together as American Alpha. The two men went on to become one of the most popular teams in all of WWE feuding with the likes of The Revival, now known as FTR in AEW.

The pair eventually captured NXT Tag Team gold before winning the SmackDown Tag Team Titles in December 2016. However, the team split in the summer of the following year with Jordan heading to Monday Night Raw.

Since the split, Gable hasn’t found momentum easy to come by, and is currently teaming with Otis as Alpha Academy on Raw.

Speaking on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed that the former Olympian has been considering his options. However, it is unclear whether he will be heading to pastures new.

“It’s been talked about, but I don’t think it’s going to happen. But it has been talked about, and he has definitely had friends tell him the same thing,” Meltzer said. I know it’s been one of those things that it’s been under consideration, but I don’t think he’s going anywhere. I don’t know that. Just one of those things. Not everyone’s gonna get an offer from AEW and that would really be the only place to go, and he’s making a lot of money in WWE, and he’s not gonna make that in IMPACT or anywhere else,”

On the most recent episode of Raw Alpha Academy took on The Dirty Dawgs, and The Street Profits to earn a shot at the Tag Team Titles, although they were ultimately unsuccessful.

During a Q&A session earlier in 2021, fellow former Olympian Kurt Angle spoke incredibly highly of Chad Gable calling him the “most underrated” wrestler he had ever faced. The Hall of Famer went on to describe Gable as “very talented” while lamenting his lack of success on the main roster.
