Chad Gable has confessed that a major WWE gimmick was once his before it was handed to a 35-year-old star.
As of this writing, Chad Gable has been put on the shelf. The former Olympian is currently nursing an injury to his rotator cuff and is out of action. However, despite his absence, his presence is still very much felt in WWE.
For starters, his stable, American Made, is still going strong under the temporary leadership of Ivy Nile. Additionally, his gimmick, El Grande Americano, is now being used by 35-year-old star Ludwig Kaiser. However, his involvement as the character was a “well-kept” secret until recently.
Outside of a few non-believers, no one suspected that Gable was, in fact, El Grande Americano. However, all that changed recently after the current Speed Champion mistakenly let the cat out of the bag while attending a Minnesota Twins game.
The 39-year-old was enjoying the game with his family when an interviewer asked him about a moment he is most proud of in his WWE career. Then, Chad Gable let slip that perhaps his biggest achievement came in April, when he had his first one-on-one match at WrestleMania. This is unfortunately untrue, seeing as Gable didn’t have a match at Mania, but El Grande Americano did.

Safe to say a lot of questions will be asked of Gable once he returns from injury. Considering he has now exposed himself, will he continue with the charade, or will he finally reveal the truth? Only time will tell.
El Grande Americano remains undefeated despite Chad Gable’s absence
Once Chad Gable picked up an injury, many assumed it would be the end of El Grande Americano. However, in Gable’s absence, as mentioned earlier, another RAW Superstar, Ludwig Kaiser, has taken up the mantle.
So far, he has done a great job with the gimmick. Not only has he maintained the usual flair associated with Americano, but he has also kept the character’s winning streak in one-on-one matches going. If this continues, El Grande may go down in history as the greatest luchador of all time.
