Chad Gable Ditches Shorty G Name On SmackDown

Short G - A terrible name in WWE

Chad Gable will no longer be wrestling as Shorty G and according to the man himself, will instead return to his original WWE name.

On last nights Friday Night SmackDown, Gable lost a quick match to Lars Sullivan. After the match, he gave an interview where he confirmed he is done with the Shorty G persona and will wrestle as Chad Gable going forward.

In the backstage segment, he confirms that Shorty G could not succeed but Chad Gable, the former Olympian, could.

Gable has been wrestling as Shorty G since last year, after a feud with King Corbin.

He made his main roster debut as part of American Alpha when the team were called up to SmackDown from NXT in 2016. He is a 2 time tag team champion on the main roster, with both Raw and Smackdown tag title reigns to date.

Despite tag success, he has not had the impact he hoped for on the main roster so far. But after this change of attitude, Gable will hope to revive his WWE singles career.
