Things turned heated on the 26th May episode of Raw.
In the first match of the night, Chad Gable faced Penta and Dragon Lee for a chance to earn himself a spot in the upcoming 2025 Money in the Bank ladder match on 7th June, 2025. However, despite displaying sheer strength, agility, and fighting spirit, Gable failed to book his ladder match berth.
Toward the closing stages of the match, Chad Gable got involved in a heated verbal spat against his upcoming Worlds Collide opponent El Hijo del Vikingo, who was present ringside behind the announcer’s table. The verbal exchange soon turned physical as Chad Gable grabbed and pushed Vikingo into the crowd.
However, instead of sitting idly, the former AAA Mega Champion decided to cost Gable the match. As the former United States Champion climbed the top rope for a moonsault, Vikingo pulled him down and landed a hard kick on Gable’s skull, effectively bursting him open. Penta capitalized on the momentum and earned the pinfall victory to enter the Money in the Bank ladder match.
What started as an attack on El Hijo del Vikingo instead came back to haunt Gable and cost him his PLE spot.
Former WWE Champion Believes Chad Gable Is El Grande Americano
A few months ago, during an appearance on the Raw Recap podcast, former WWE Champion Big E explained why Chad Gable is the luchador El Grande Americano.
“Let’s not go down this route. I know Chad Gable’s body. I’ve seen that man in many locker rooms and many wrestling rings. I could pick that body out of a lineup of 1,000 men, and don’t make it weird, okay? Don’t make it weird. I know who that is. I know who that is and don’t insult my intelligence by telling me it’s anyone other than Chad Gable. Let’s stop this whole charade. Let’s take this man out the mask. I know who you are. Let’s end this, all of it. Every little bit of it. Let’s kill it right now. Let’s be done with it, okay?”
“I know every every square inch. I know how it all lays out. I see how the lats taper to the waist, okay? It wasn’t intentional, okay? I spent a lot of time around half-naked men and also naked men. This was not what I intended when I started out in this journey, but it’s a byproduct of this profession, okay?”
