Cesaro Posts Cryptic Tweet About His Future

Cesaro

Cesaro has posted a cryptic hint about his next move following his departure from WWE in February.

On February 24th, Cesaro left WWE after his contract with the company expired. While there had been talks between the two sides, no agreement could be reached. As a result, the Swiss Cyborg departed the company he had called home for more than a decade.

Interestingly, as the former United States Champion wasn’t released, he is not bound by a non-compete clause.

In March, the Swiss star, real name Claudio Castagnoli, filed a trademark for the name CRSO, for multiple uses, including merchandise, coffee and pro wrestling.

The star now goes by the name Claudio CRSO, a mash-up of his real name, and more well-known WWE ring name.

Posting on social media, the former WWE Superstar has now shared a new photo with the caption “soon.”

After stints with Chikara, Combat Zone Wrestling, Ring of Honor and Pro Wrestling Guerrilla among others, Castagnoli signed with WWE in September 2011. The star initially appeared in Florida Championship Wrestling, which would later become NXT.

Cesaro went on to win the United States Championship, as well as becoming a seven-time World Tag Team Champion. As a singles star, the Swiss Superman also became the first winner of the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal back in 2014 at WrestleMania XXX.

In recent years, Castagnoli was perhaps best known for his rivalry turned friendship with Sheamus. After competing in a ‘best-of-seven’ series of matches against each other, the pair began teaming together. The duo won the Raw Tag Team Titles four times, and the SmackDown version of the belts once.

Cesaro’s final WWE match took place on the February 11th episode of Friday Night SmackDown where he was defeated by Happy Corbin.
