Cash Wheeler Facing Criminal Charges

Cash Wheeler

Cash Wheeler is set to appear in court once again for an incident that took place in 2023.

Last year an arrest warrant was issued in July for the AEW star, real name Daniel Wheeler following an incident of road rage that took place in Florida. On August 18th, news broke that Cash Wheeler had been arrested for aggravated assault with a firearm. More details would come to light as the day went on, with the accusing party alleging that Wheeler “flashed a gun” at the other party while driving. Wheeler did not know the occupants of the other vehicle.

Cash Wheeler turned himself into the authorities on August 18th and was set a bond of $2,500. Appearing in court later that day, Wheeler was ordered to pay the bond and not have any contact with the other party. A video of the court appearance surfaced online which saw Wheeler and his attorney agree to the charges and the judge believing that this was reasonable due to Wheeler having no prior history of road rage.

Arrested 8 days before All In, Wheeler and Dax Harwood, who were the Tag Team Champions at the time, seemed heavily in doubt for their appearance at Wembley Stadium, where FTR was scheduled to defend the titles against The Young Bucks at the inaugural event. With the terms of the arraignment agreed upon, the scheduled match did take place the next week.

Prosecutors Elect To Move Forward With Criminal Charges Against Cash Wheeler

In a new update in February 2024, a decision has been made to move forward with the charges. As reported by PWInsider, this is the first movement on the case since the arraignment approximately 6 months ago. If convicted, Wheeler could face up to 5 years in prison, 5 years probation and a fine of up to $5,000. Wheeler is set for an arraignment on February 20th despite being previously arraigned in August 2023.

At the time of the arrest, AEW issued a statement regarding the matter, noting that they are closely monitoring the situation. Wheeler has never publicly acknowledged the incident outside of court.

In a new update, Cash Wheeler did not appear for the second arraignment and is now set to go to trial.
