Former WWE NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes recently took to social media to extend a message of caution and support to this week’s special guest, John Cena.
On X Hayes offered to escort Cena through the parking lot, ensuring his safety during his visit. In a post, Hayes said:
Heads up, when you get to the ‘NXT’ parking lot call me. I’ll come out and walk you in OG, just to be safe.
Cena will be in Hayes’ corner on the upcoming episode of NXT, which airs on October 10th. The match will see Hayes take on Bron Breakker with Paul Heyman in the corner of Breakker.
Hayes and Breakker have a history together, with Hayes starting his first and only NXT Championship reign by defeating Breakker in April at Stand and Deliver. Their most recent encounter took place at the Battleground premium live event in May, where Hayes successfully defended his title against Breakker. However, just a week ago, Hayes lost the championship to Ilja Dragunov at No Mercy.
Heads up, when you get to the NXT parking lot call me. I’ll come out and walk you in OG 👌🏾 just to be safe. #WWENXThttps://t.co/aUqzJx4AW5

Why Are WWE NXT And AEW Dynamite Going Head To Head?
The upcoming episode of NXT is set to air at the same time as a special episode of AEW Dynamite, which traditionally airs on Wednesdays but is shifting this episode to Tuesday due to the MLB playoffs taking place on Wednesday night on TBS.
WWE has managed to secure the appearances of not only John Cena but also Asuka, who will face Roxanne Perez. In addition, Cody Rhodes is slated to make appearances. Rumours are swirling that WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker may also make a surprise appearance on NXT. This strategic move by WWE aims to compete with Dynamite and attract a larger audience for the show.
