Carlito’s WWE Return Surpasses ‘Cool’ Milestone

Carlito has given WWE a very special surprise as they reach a huge milestone thanks to his comeback.

Puerto Rico was already hot for WWE during Backlash but when Carlito made a shock return, the crowd inside José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum erupted. The former Intercontinental Champion hadn’t been in a WWE ring since teaming with Jeff Hardy on Raw in February 2021, the day after being a surprise entry to the Men’s Royal Rumble.

But the loud crowd reaction on Saturday night led to WWE sharing footage of his return on social media to huge rewards.

Over one million views of Carlito’s return were clocked within 24 hours of Backlash across Twitter and YouTube, now growing to nearly ten million views on WWE’s official Twitter alone.

Carlito was not the only Superstar to come back on Saturday night as Attitude Era Legend Savio Vega joined in on the action. The pair came to the aid of Bad Bunny, who whilst competing against Damian Priest was outnumbered by fellow Judgement Day members Finn Balor and Dominik Mysterio.

Caribbean Cool and Rey Mysterio both ran to the ring to help Bunny, forcing a retreat, but as Balor and Dominik tried to leave, Savio Vega walked out and received a huge pop.

Vega called on the Latino World Order who were happy to oblige and force the Judgment Day backstage, leaving an injured Priest one-on-one with the sensational Bad Bunny.

Carlito Is No Stranger To WWE Success

Carlito was initially with WWE for seven years from 2003 to 2010, starting off in Ohio Valley Wrestling before being called up under the name Carlito Caribbean Cool, later changed to Carlito.

The rookie made an incredible start by beating John Cena in his first match on Smackdown to become United States Champion.

His gimmick was to eat an apple and then spit it out toward Superstars he felt were not “trying to be cool”.

Carlito would go on to win the Intercontinental Championship and hold both the WWE and World Tag Team Champions with his real-life brother Primo.
